I absolutely adore these shoes and still can't believe they came from Kohls. More details of the shirt below:
It's made from navy and white striped cotton with matching anchor buttons. I finished the inside with french seams (serged wrong sides together then flipped and sewn right sides together so that the seams are enclosed). I have an irrational fear of sewing plackets, so I tried to be clever and use David Page Coffin's method for one-piece plackets. He insists that plackets are easy, it's just a matter of folding fabric. And I'm sure that is the case...when you measure correctly, but it just so happens that I did not. From now on: measure twice cut once. Since my placket was only short width-wise I was able to cut the other side from my fabric scraps.
